rewatch discussion post 001: pilot
Sep. 9th, 2025 12:48 amThere are 8 of us so far, EIGHT! :D To celebrate I thought I'd start a weekly series rewatch. Every Monday (sorry this is a bit late!) I'll make a post for us to discuss an episode, going in order. And I suppose if we get to the end we'll just start over!
You can also jump into any of the past posts at any time to talk about the show, feel free to rewatch in whatever order you like once more posts are up!

Community Rewatch Discussion Post
1.01 "Pilot", written by Dan Harmon, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
Notes:
- Dan Harmon actually went to community college to connect with his then girlfriend. They were supposed to take a Spanish class together to get closer, but he ended up becoming close with the study group he joined. "...I was in this group with these knuckleheads and I started really liking them," he explained, "even though they had nothing to do with the film industry and I had nothing to gain from them and nothing to offer them." He wrote the role of Jeff based mainly on himself.
- Metacritic gives the show a score of 69 out of 100, based on 23 reviews. (Nice!)
